Wu Shu

Wu Shu Kung Fu is the national Sport of China. It is practiced daily by millions of Chinese people as part of their PE, or just because they love it! Wu Shu appeals to both young and old alike, as it ranges from the highly athletic Forms like Chang Quan and the straight sword forms, to the slow moving graceful Tai Chi forms of the Yang and Chen styles.

We are very fortunate to have a teacher fresh from China who has won many competitions, including the All-China championships. Sifu Yang liang comes from Harbin city, famous for the quality of its Wushu in the North of China. He has toured the world for the last eight years with a Chinese Circus, coming second in the circus World Championships.

First time out, he won both of his sections in the WKA Premier league, totally enthralling the audience with his speed, power and grace. The picture on the left shows his celebration. Our club has already produced some Champions from the members, so the Teacher retired from competing!

We teach in the North Shore, Thornton and Blackpool areas, with more classes opening soon.
